Why Tesla Needs A Smaller Vehicle On The Market
I’m honestly not a big fan of Tesla. Partially because of their proprietary charging network but also because I just think sedans have to be the most boring format of cars in the world. Ok, ok, mini-vans are more boring but I digress. That being said I believe Tesla needs to continue to lead the progress already made with electrification of vehicles across the world and one way they can do that is by introducing a smaller vehicle. To me, I’ll codename the Tesla Model 2. Here’s why.
Price
Electric cars are the future, even if you believe the future involves an internal combustion engine, they will without a doubt feature a hybrid system in order to obtain higher levels of efficiency not able to be reached without an electric system. That being said, electric cars are expensive still. While the prices have been plummeting over the years, it doesn’t help that the majority of the platforms people actually care about are completely overpriced. With the Nissan Leaf dominating the pricing structure of an EV, it’s important that Tesla start to take notice and start developing the product needed to undercut Nissan. If Tesla would to offer a vehicle that could be owned around the $25,000 price range, I think Tesla will have no choice but to ramp up production even more!
