Why Smartwatches Have No Place In My Life

Smartwatches are pretty cool, from their ability to display quick useful information to the user and their ability to track key health metrics, these could very well become the device that all doctors require their patients to wear one day! As for now though, smartwatches have no place in my life, so let me explain why that is!

Universal Charging

A lot of devices these days either use Qi charging or USB-C ports, except for some of the most popular and functional smartwatches out there! This really blows my mind; I would think the smartwatch would be a key player in the charging eco-system yet they often just make things more complicated with proprietary chargers. That being said, there are many on the market that do have universal options, however on top of the proprietary issues I mentioned already, another issue is my disinterest in charging multiple devices in preparation for the following day. While the only thing that I throw into my pocket on a daily basis requiring a charge is my phone, I also have dozens of other devices that need to stay juiced up. So, adding an unnecessary phone accessory to that list just doesn’t interest me all that much!
