Why Smartphones Will Replace Dedicated Camera
Phones have come a long way in a relatively short amount of time, from feature flip phones, to bricks that made phone calls to now the current “slate” that we call the smartphone. It’s exciting to think about where phones will go next! While it’s hard to envision that entire road map, I’m here to make the fairly common claim that smartphones will completely replace the need for cameras not just in the consumer market but also very likely the professional as well. I’m talking about movie directors being able to pull out their smartphone and film a feature length movie without a gimble or anything. Sure they still might need a crew to manage lighting and overall organization but when it comes to camera management, I’m more than confident saying that smartphones will replace the tried and true dedicated hardware of videographers. Here’s why.
