Why I Sold My +400 Video Game Collection
So I honestly never thought I would be writing something with a title like this. While not many people knew simply because I didn’t show it off or anything but I had a very well developed video game collection spanning multiple consoles, multiple generations and even handhelds as well. While most of my games were things anyone could get a hold of some of my items were rare or boxed from the bygone days of cardboard game cases. I wouldn’t say my game collection was worth a million dollars or anything crazy like that but it was worth a pretty penny. But more importantly than that it made me happy just looking at it, I housed the entire library in one custom shelf that I actually made in high school, again nothing fancy but it was purpose build to fit the oddly sized shapes of video game cartridges and disc. And this bookshelf full of video games sat on my desk behind my laptop. I would always look up at it and spot a random video game and in that split second moment I was able to relive my childhood. My first PS3 game Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune which my friend actually gifted to me before I had ever even gotten a PS3. My entire Nintendo 64 library which still remains one of my favorite consoles of all time simply because of Starfox 64.
