Why I Have No Interest In Google Stadia

I’m actually a really big fan of video game streaming, I ultimately believe that one day billions of people will be experiencing their games through streaming platforms. That being said, with Google’s recent foray into video games and video game streaming I was mildly excited to see what their attempt looked like. Though as we sit in 2022, I just can’t see it succeeding, here’s why.

The Google Factor

Google has such a strange way of producing products and services. They often produce multiple services that cover all the same feature sets and due to the internal competition that this ultimately fuels, they are never set up to compete against external competitors. Looking at all the attempts of Googles messaging makes my head start to steam. Hangouts, Messages, Duo, Allo, Chat, Google+, Gmail, Talk, Voice…I digress. Even in 2020, things still aren’t supe clean cut since nothing has really been established as the final answer and there are still existing products that compete against each other. This makes it scary to commit to a product because you get the feeling that Google is ready and willing to completely crush all your hopes and dreams at the same time.
