Why Game Streaming Is The Future

There was a point in time where I could be directly quoted saying “Physical media for life.” or “Game streaming is dumb, give me my disc”. Not only do I no longer have any physical media as I opt for digital versions but I also quite enjoy game streaming! The fact that I was a naysayer at one point makes me want to vouch for game streaming even more! I think there are a lot of cool technologies that will make gaming in general really awesome over the next couple of years but I simply can’t look past the impact that game streaming will have because I genuinely think it’s the future of gaming. Here’s why!

Universal Compatibility

Yeah, you read that right, when I say universal, I mean it. We’ve reached a point where as long as you have an internet connection and a device that can open up a web browser, you can play triple A game titles. Whether we’re talking about Halo or God of War, there are huge titles on these streaming platforms, all for a fraction of what you would pay to buy them all digitally or even used copies physically. The fact that there are hundreds of millions of devices that can use these streaming services is a real game changer, the days are fading where you need specialized devices in order to play the latest and greatest video games.
