Why Ford Needs To Rethink “Spin”

For starters, I’m actually surprised I was able to find an image on Unsplash that actually had a Spin vehicle on it, yay me. Ford recently announced their intend to pull out of several markets ranging from Spain to Germany and yes, parts of the United States. Along with this comes a restructuring of the organization and several are likely losing their jobs which is certainly unfortunate. Considering Ford is one of the most stable car companies in the world right next to Toyota and Stellantis, this raises the question. How can Ford save their Spin?

Ownership

COVID-19 is in dire need of a name change as we now move into 2022, this disease has raged for over 24 months across the world leaving many not willing to touch door handles, much less handlebars! While Ford certainly has an enterprise market that sells and manages fleets of vehicles for customers that operate as such I just don’t think that’s where the money is when it comes to small mobility such as scooters and e-bikes. Everyone would much rather own their small foldable scooter and carry it around when needed versus downloading some sort of application to their phone, finding one that works and is charged and hope it get’s you from point A to point B. I’m sure centralized communities like colleges and even certain parts of town are able to take advantage of these Spin scooters but as for scalability…
