Why Ford Needs Compact In The United States

Just for starters, I don’t have a Ford Fiesta. Though I’ll admit, if they made a Fiesta RS that featured an AWD system, I would probably have a Ford Fiesta. Photo opinions aside, Ford ended many of their cars in the United States around 2018, ultimately removing the Focus, Fiesta, Taurus, Fusion, C-Max, and now their Ecosport from their lineup. It was a sad day to say the least, however I want to write about why Ford truly needs to bring back at least one if not two car based platforms to the United States, so let’s check it out.

Pricing

The fact is, cars are generally cheaper than big giant trucks and with car prices soaring far beyond MSRP ever since the grand supply chains took a hit thanks to the pandemic, it may be the perfect time to introduce a small yet functional compact car to the masses. Not only would a smaller vehicle lead to lower consumer prices but it will also make it a lot easier to produce in larger quantities. From fewer parts to a reduced physical footprint the production process could be streamlined quite rapidly compared to larger truck or SUV based platforms.
