Why Cash Is No Longer King

I’m sure a lot of us have heard this over the last couple years. Whether we’re talking about the bartender or your own father, there was and still is this current distaste towards credit cards or any sort of payment that doesn’t directly involve physical cash exchange. As of 2021, I and many of you already know this but, this is a lie. Let me tell you why.

Inconvenient

Think about the last experience you had using cash to pay for something. Yeah, I completely understand if that was awhile ago, it’s been awhile for myself as well. The experience was probably a little clunky to say the least, you get the total, you either have to shuffle through your wallet or purse and unfold the cash, perhaps you even had to count off the correct amount you planned to hand over during the exchange. Once you hand over your cash now another person has to handle it themselves and ensure if any change is due that that is also accurate. Now compare this directly to using a credit card, you either swipe with a magnetic strip, insert your chip activated card or as of recently you can also tap to pay with your cards as well. All of these options while still requiring you to shuffle for your card allow you pay in a far more convenient way when compared to cash. On top of the selling point to credit cards you can also add your payment options to your mobile phone and use tap to pay with…
