Why AWD Is The Future Of The Auto Industry
All-Wheel-Drive has always been a desirable feature when it comes to the automotive sector. It was always billed as a luxury option or it was relegated to premium models entirely. While it has always been a desirable feature I believe it has struggled to catch on for multiple reasons, whether that was the cost, the higher level of required maintenance or the actual weight needed to support an AWD system inside of an automobile. While those are all still very valid obstacles that need real world solutions I think AWD is the future of the automotive industry, here is why!
Safety
The entire automotive industry has been focused on safety for several decades now. Not only have very dangerous situations been witnessed but driving as a whole has been deemed pretty dangerous. Even when we start talking about autonomous vehicles it’s clear that a lot of the desire behind these technologies are built around improving the safety of transportation. This is why AWD is so important. Not only does an AWD setup reduce the chances of getting stuck inside of low traction areas such as snow, ice, dirt and mud but it also improves your safety when you’re already on the move.
