What I Want From Robinhood’s Web3 Based Crypto Wallet
With Robinhood already announcing, testing and finally releasing custodial crypto wallets just a few months ago to everyone that uses the Robinhood platform, it was really the natural evolution for that platform to further develop a non-custodial wallet option for their customer base. While there are security concerns that go two ways, I ultimately think that this is an important move that Robinhood needs to make sooner rather than later if they want to remain relevant in the Crypto space. So, let’s talk about what I want from this future crypto wallet!
Single Application
In their announcement, Robinhood made it pretty clear that they plan on releasing an additional application that will store all of your personal crypto wallets. This sucks. Now I don’t actually know if this would be some sort of requirement from a web3 perspective but I genuinely hope that Robinhood maintains their one application abilities. The reason I’ve grown more and more attached to Robinhood over the years is the fact that they offer a lot of features within one single application. As a matter of fact I’m genuinely waiting for Robinhood to introduce a competitive credit card so that I can completely ditch my own personal bank account (which happens to be tied to my two credit cards).
