As we head back to Suzuka in 2024, the stakes are high for the Formula 1 season. Williams has chassis issues, Daniel Ricciardo appears to be on the chopping block and realistically everyone is wondering if Max Verstappen is really going to walk away with this year’s championship. So with the stage now set, let me explain to you the top 3 highlights from the 2024 Japanese Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend!

Williams Can’t Catch a Break

Heading into the weekend at Suzuka, Williams Racing was already dealing with mounting pressure. Not only were they losing significant points coverage to other back of the field teams like Haas which will no doubt be important when it comes to the final championship standings but they’re also facing an uphill battle with damaged chassis’. With Alex Albon taking a shunt, followed by Logan Sargaent taking another shunt Williams had to be careful going into the Japanese Grand Prix. That all came crumbling down on lap 1 when Daniel Ricciardo and Alex Albon made contact and both went speeding into barriers. This ended the race for both drivers but more importantly it seems that Alex Albon damaged his chassis yet again.
