As we head to Jeddah for the second round of the 2024 Formula 1 season, it’s hard not to consider the idea that the season may already be over as Max Verstappen continues his reign of dominance in the sport. That said, I still want to dig into some of the highlights from the race weekend! So let’s chat about it!

Lance Stroll’s Woes

I will openly state that I’m not a fan of Lance Stroll, he was always considered a pay to drive driver because of the money that followed behind him but he also just seems “unpleasant”. I won’t dive into my opinions much further but having crashed out incredibly early in the race this past weekend leaving Fernando Alonso to be the only one on track to gather points for the team, it is admittedly a little embarassing. Why is Lance Stroll still driving for Aston Martin? With Oliver Bearman putting together a better race than Lance Stroll, it’s never been more clear to me that there is a whole generation worthy of a drive in Formula 1. Whethe we talk about Liam Lawson, Oliver Bearman or potentially even Nick DeVries, I think there is merit in looking at other drivers for this particular seat.
