Top 3 Highlights From The 2024 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix

I am not actually a fan of the Australian circuit just because it seems a little bland but ironically enough Australia is known for supplying fans with an action packed Grand Prix weekend. This weekend was no exception! So let’s dig into my top 3 Highlights from the weekend!

William’s Woes

In a really strange and unfortunate event, we saw Alex Albon crash his car during one of the practice sessions at the Australian Grand Prix weekend. Initially the damage did not appear to be out of the ordinary for a Formula 1 crash, this all changed after Williams was able to inspect the car. It was revealed that the actual chassis of the car was damaged beyond reasonable repair for the weekend. Furthermore, it was revealed that because Williams was so far behind schedule developing their 2024 contending car, they did not have a spare chassis available. Some teams simply don’t bring an extra chassis from their manufacturing facilities, but for Williams, they simply did not have one at all. Meaning they had two drivers and only one available for the car. Team principle James Vowles made the difficult decision to put Alex Albon in the car for the remainder of the weekend in an effort to secure as many points as possible.
