Top 3 Highlights From The 2023 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix
Another week, and another grand prix! This time we hit the streets of the United States in Austin Texas! Not only was it hot and dry but it also features a new set of facial hair from Daniel Ricciardo! Before I spoil the rest of the article let’s dive into the 2023 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix!
Plank Gate
With Lewis Hamilton finishing in P2 behind Max Verstappen it appeared that Mercedes new upgrades set them up to be a real contender in the coming races. That is until a few hours after the race it was revealed that both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were disqualified from the race due to excessive wear on their bottom plank. This was likely a result of multiple factors, both the sprint weekend but also the bumpy track itself. The moral of the story is, Lewis and Charles both broke the rules, even if it wasn’t done consciously which is incredibly unfortunate.
Lando Shows Pace
While his teammate Piastri ended the United States Grand Prix with a DNF due to contact made with Esteban Ocon, Lando Norris went on to secure a P3 on track and P2 after the above situation was revealed.
