Finally, the 2023 season for Formula 1 is upon us, and with it comes all the excitement of new cars, new drivers, and for this year an interesting new track addition. That being said, let’s dive head first into the very first race of the season out in the desert! Let’s talk about the top 3 highlights from the 2023 Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix weekend!
Aston Martin Shakes The Field
With Redbull dominating the majority of the 2022 season, the conditions were set for both Ferrari and Mercedes to make big strides to make their cars competitive. That idea was clearly met with lukewarm improvements by both and left the field wide open to allow Aston Martin a shot at the prime-time podium spots along with Red Bull. Having made huge strides with the Aston Martin from the moment testing began the momentum continued well into the racing weekend and it secured Fernando Alonso’s 99th podium during his debut with the team. There are a lot of feelings with this, I love that the competition is heating up on the field and it’s cool to see Fernando Alonso on a podium, something I did not expect to see in 2023 personally.
