Another year and another final race in Abu Dhabi. While this is far from being my favorite track on the calendar I can’t help but love it for various reasons. Not only is it scenic during the afternoon and at night but it just resonates with the whole idea of a “finale”. So it’s always a bitter sweet race to see the season come to a close but also get excited for the following year. So let’s talk about my top 3 highlights from the final race of the Formula 1 calendar!

Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop Max Verstappen

We all saw it coming from ten races away but Max Verstappen pulled off yet another easy breezy win at Abu Dhabi. Having fended off Charles Leclerc in the opening stages of the race Max was able to build up a lead throughout the race with clean air for the majority of it. Having secured his 19th win of the 2023 season, the only real question is, what will he bring to the table in 2024?

Mercedes v Ferrari

One of the only competitions remaining in the season was the fight for second place of the constructors championship. With Redbull having secured 1st place several races earlier, it left the rest of the field fighting for the scraps in terms of the championship positions.
