Things I Learned During Remote Schooling
While I’ve always been part of some sort of computer-based learning, even going back to the days when we had to use floppy disk and giant CRT monitors. However, since I started my graduate level education, first with my master's degree and now my doctoral level courses right now, I’ve been thrust into a world of remote education. So here are three things I’ve learned through remote learning.
Convenience Is King
There are times in life where you’re going to be willing to deal with headaches, whether we’re talking about changing your own oil in your car or dealing with a commute to the workplace every day. However, there will also be times where you pursue convenience over everything else. That’s where I think online education really shines. I actually had class early today and I woke up from a nap 30 minutes before hand and attended class with my pajama pants still on. That’s how crazy convenient remote learning can be a majority of the time. Now of course, you still need to actually pay attention in class and it may be more difficult to get more hands on help every once and awhile but that’s ultimately an extremely small price to pay when the majority of the time remote education is just overwhelmingly more convenient than traditional schooling.
