My Hopes For The MetaVerse
While I’m a strong believer of the fact that the MetaVerse is really nothing new, it’s certainly about to be put into overdrive in 2022. With heavy hitting tech giants like Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Apple all very interested in this space it means billions of dollars are going to be spend on getting all of us into the MetaVerse. So, with that said, here’s what I really want from the MetaVerse in 2022.
Interoperability
I strongly believe that this will be the biggest movement when it comes to the future of the MetaVerse and potentially Web3. Currently all our digital purchases and lives are incredibly separated by whichever account we’re logged into. I have eBooks that can only be accessed through Google Play Books, my video game purchases are stuck on Steam and let’s not forget all my physical items that simply don’t have a digital counterpart, perhaps like my high school yearbooks. With the MetaVerse, one of the biggest goals will be decentralization, by allowing us to access all of our digital assets across the entire MetaVerse, while I don’t see this actually happening in 2022, I believe 2022 will be laying the groundwork for a lot of the future solutions to take place. Whether we’re talking about cryptographic wallets or other solutions, the time that we’re tied down to one service will start to shorten.
