How USB Type-C Helps The Environment

The Story Begins

USB Type-C/USB-C is yet another invention that when launched it carried all the tech enthusiast dreams of having one main interface to connect hardware. Launching on its first device way back in 2015 USB-C has come quite a long ways since then.

Primarily targeting portable devices such as phones and tablets due to their thin and light nature, USB-C has now infiltrated every aspect of our lives. From portable speakers, laptops, streaming boxes, video game controllers, audio interfaces and tons of other devices. USB-C may not be anywhere near 100% adoption rates on a global level but it is easy to see the progress that has been made and how much more progress will occur over the next several years or even months, considering new devices are on a 6 month refresh cycle. All this brings us to the main article point.

How Does USB-C Save The Planet?

For starters I want to talk about Micro-USB for a quick second, Micro-USB sucked. I would say it was actually a step backwards from USB-Mini. Sure Micro-USB was small and compact, making it perfect for small devices the problem was, it broke constantly, and not just the connector, it even broke the female ports as well!
