How To Rapidly Get Out Of a Rut
We’ve all been there before, you were having a pretty standard week or month and then all of sudden you hit a wall. Whether we’re talking about your ability to follow your gym routine after spending so much time and effort on it the past couple weeks or you’re just not able to be a productive human being, putting off task such as homework or writing on Medium only to lay in your bed. So let’s talk about how you can not just get out of a rut, but do it rapidly.
Set The Scene
I don’t know what really boost your productivity juices but I can tell you what setting the scene generally means for me. First off, I have the attention span of a gnat, if my workstation or room is messy I seriously need to clean and organize before I can do anything else. I’ll throw my laundry into the washer, throw my dishes in the sink and organize any clutter that has accumulated in my workstation. It’s really not rocket science. On top of this, I have a small addiction towards caffeine, so when the time comes for me to try and be productive I like to go out an get an energy drink and maybe an energy bar. I’m not going to try and convince that’s some sort of power play based on caffeine or a sugar rush instead you should just know it’s something that I like to have and it puts me in “the zone”. So before you do anything else to get out of your rut, go ahead and set the scene.
