Gas prices are soaring and it’s not as simple as walking into your dealership and asking for a more fuel-efficient vehicle thanks to all the supply chain shortages going on around the world. So, in order for us to save some of you the pain and agony of spending a small fortune at the pump each week, here are a few tips to help cut your fuel cost!

Lose Some Weight

Look, I’m mostly talking about cutting some weight from your car, but at the end of the day, if you’re driving the car, you could probably help the fuel efficiency by shedding a few pounds yourself. Ok, ok, focus. I really strive to keep damn near nothing inside of my car, I have a pair of sunglasses, my license and registration and that’s about it. Even my trunk is completely empty. Now, before I go on about not having a spare tire or patch kit, I’ll let you know that my commute is 5.2 miles and even then I have family and friends surrounding me so I don’t really worry about getting a flat (your mileage may vary). Yes, that was a pun. I’m not going to advise you stop carrying around the essentials, especially during the winter and especially if you have a long drive that you take but try to slim things down as much as you can, stop carrying around half your worldly possessions and you’ll quickly notice a small improvement to your fuel economy.
