How Microsoft Could Kill Windows
If you were to ask me whether or not I want or needed native applications about five years ago, I would have given you a resounding “yes” however, times have changed. With cloud computing growing in popularity thanks to major improvements being made to our connectivity, our data server capacity and just our entire internet connected lives. So with all these improvements I want to talk about how Microsoft, the most popular operating system provider in the world could ultimately kill off their most prized product, Windows!
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
Who would have thought that one of main hardware producers in the video game industry would opt to completely out value their own product, but that’s exactly what Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is attempting to do. Not only do you no longer need standard PC hardware to game (Think i7, Nvidia 3080, 128GB of RAM or PCIE Gen 5 SSDs) but you don’t even really need a conventional operating system. A few months ago when Halo Infinite launched for Xbox Series X, it also conveniently launched of Xbox Game Pass as well. Meaning I was able to subscribe to the service (At the time it was only $1 for me), login on my Android smartphone that came out in 2019 and proceed to stream the games high quality visuals to my device with little to no serious performance issues. If that doesn’t scream the death of Windows, I’m not sure…
