How Electric Vehicles Will Simplify The Automobile
I don’t think any person that has a decent amount of common sense will claim that electric cars are going to fail. Not only are they here to stay as clear market disruptors but they’re also going to doing a lot of good for the overall auto industry. That being said, I think a lot of these benefits boil down to the simplicity of these machines so I wanted to talk about how exactly electric cars will proceed to simplify what we consider to be the automobile and here’s how!
Lack Of Engines
While the basic function of an internal combustion engine is rather simple, there’s no denying the fact that internal combustion engines have grown increasingly complicated over the last several decades. Between all of the internal components such as valves and springs, camshafts and of course the pistons themselves, these pieces of mechanical technology can get rather complicated. Throw in the external components such as water pumps, turbochargers and all the piping used to manage the air in general and you have a super complex piece of machinery. All of these compared to an electric motor that in a general sense only has three main components, it’s clear to see how electrification will make maintenance far more manageable.
