Gotta remember there is a value proposition to be made. For businesses, they need to see a ROI as soon as possible. Considering the high price of SSD's compared to traditional mechanical drives they couldn't justify small boost in speed and efficiency. As the price has fallen and the speed and efficiency improvements have increased it's hard to ignore now. Especially with PCIE 5 SSDs right around the corner!
