Are Chromebooks A Viable Platform In 2022?
I remember laughing at the idea of Chromebooks back in high school. Especially after our school announced that the year after I was going to graduate, students were going to be using Chromebooks for much of their assignments going forward. I will add that, I truly was not jealous, instead I was bummed that a lot of kids digital experience was going to be built upon Chrome OS instead of Windows, which is still generally the catch all in terms of enterprise and personal usage. However, as I sit in 2022 I can’t help but think that Chromebooks have come quite a long way, so let’s see if Chrome OS is actually a viable platform.
The Web Browser
Web sites have also come an extremely long way over the last decade (I graduated high school in 2013) As a matter of fact, can we just take a moment to realize how much better live streaming has become as well? I remember having to have multiple computers during E3 livestreams just in case we lost one of the streams to some sort of unknown issue. Now, I can watch livestreams in 4K 60FPS, with little to no hiccups. But I digress. The web browser is starting to house more and more of our primary applications, just off the top of my head I’m thinking about E-Mail, watching videos, messaging, social media, paying bills, attending virtual concerts even gaming have all become not only possible in the web…
