The world of technology is changing rapidly, as a matter of fact we’re currently living through one of the eras of exponential technological growth. That makes things very exciting but at the same time it does raise a lot of questions as well. What products will become obsolete? What industries will disappear? Who will be the dominate force in this age of computerized industry? So I wanted to share with you what three products I expect to disappear over the next decade!

Physical Media

Whether we’re talking about books, movies CDs or even vinyls, it’s clear to see that this industry has already been struggling with digital alternatives offering better prices and far superior levels of convenience. As we continue to shift more and more of our pieces of media to digital means we’re going to see a drastic reduction in the production of their physical counterparts. Think about the last time you went to a Best Buy or Wal-Mart, how small is their selection of movies and music albums compared to what it was like just twenty years ago? Then try and imagine life without things like YouTube or Netflix. To me, imagining that just sounds like the dark ages. So if you’re into physicals media, enjoy it while it last because this industry is clearly headed for their long planned demise!
