3 Tips To Read More Books
I haven’t always loved reading, as a matter of fact for the majority of my academic career I genuinely tried to avoid reading when possible. I quite literally remember pretended that I read a book in order to complete the book report for class. I did this on multiple occasions throughout elementary, middle school and even high school. However, at some point during my college career I started reading more and more books out of the blue, I probably spent half of my tuition refund on self-development books that have without a doubt helped to shape me into the person I am today. While I was able to read a lot of these books I wish I knew a few things before reading that much so that’s what I’m going to talk about in this article.
Stop Thinking About Speed
Look, I get it. You have an entire book shelf full of books that you want to try and read before the end of the day. You need to realize not only is that impossible, but it also won’t really be an enjoyable experience. While I am definitely a to-do list kind of person you have to be careful when you actively treat books as another check mark. The fact is if all you’re thinking about is speed, you’re not only sacrificing comprehension but you’re also just making the entire reading experience far more painful.
