In case you haven’t read many of my articles here on Medium, technology is kind of my jam. Whether we’re talking about smartphones, laptops, VR or cars, technology is all around us and the rapid innovation that has occured over the last couple of years gets me all excited for the future as well. This is especially true for Formula 1 which has been at the forefront of automotive technology for nearly a century. That being said, let me share with you 3 specific things that excite me about the future when talking about Formula 1.

The Spectator Aspect

Formula 1 has gotten extremely easy to watch, some may even argue that it is damaging to the sport itself but I kindly disagree. The ability to follow along with specific driver onboards, hear their radio interactions and even view their footwork on the pedals are all relatively new ideas brought to the forefront of Formula 1. Coupled with the ability to view Formula 1 race weekends from our pocket supercomputers, laptops or at the bar of your choice, I can only see new opportunities growing in this space especially as we talk about traveling to and from races becoming a bit easier due to technology and of course the very cool proposition of virtual reality brought to the world of watching Formula 1!
