3 Things I Automate In My Life

Thanks to a lot of modern-day amenities such as the smartphone or even the smart home, quality of life has made drastic improvements in such a short time. While this whole article isn’t about smart technologies, I do want to talk about the handful of things in my life that I simply don’t worry about on a day-to-day basis because they are partially or entirely automated, so let’s check it out!

Home

The smart home has become a big push over the last couple of years with new standards set to roll out over the course of the next few years it will only get faster. No longer do you need to be a billionaire playboy in order to enjoy the benefits of a fully functioning smart home! I like to use my smart home gadgets to make my life just a little bit easier throughout the day, dimming my bedroom lights as it gets closer to bedtime and shutting off my workstation’s power when I’m in bed. I even use my smart plug to turn off my vehicles block heater so that when I head off to work during the week I don’t have to sit around and wait for it to heat up! Automating your home life has a lot of advantages. Not only can you start to add boundaries to your work (by created dedicated work time hours) but you can also work to improve your health (dimming lights to signify sleep or adding alarms to advise you to stand up and move).
