3 Takeaways From The 2022 Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix

Round 6 of the 2022 Formula 1 season is officially complete, and considering the fact that the Spanish Grand Prix is generally considered “a boring race” this was probably one of the most exciting races to watch so far this season, really showcasing the potential behind these new 2022 cars. So without boring you any further let’s talk about the 3 big takeaways from the Spanish GP weekend!

Mercedes Is Back

But for real this time! While Mercedes performed well in Miami I believe that their performance in Spain this past weekend has set them up to once again become title contenders. While that certainly doesn’t mean that they’re going to have an easy time about doing that, they will at least have a fighting chance. After displaying some key upgrades on their car it seems that the majority of their porpoising has completely disappeared, with the only remnants of it being in the high speed corners. This development allowed George Russel to lead the race for a few laps before eventually finishing in 3rd, on top of that Lewis Hamilton was able to make one of his best recoveries of his career. Originally starting in P6 Lewis acquired a puncture due to a racing incident sending him all the way down to P19, yet when he saw the checkered flag he had accomplished P5, which would have been P4 if he didn’t having a water leak on…
