Another weekend into the 2022 season and it’s so hard to believe that we’ve only got two more races in the season (Brazil & Abu Dhabi). That being said, the Mexican Grand Prix was lively in the grand stands especially if you were a Sergio Perez fan but certainly from a racing spectacle, there was much to be desired for when the chequered flag waved. Without spoiling too much, let’s talk about my top 3 takeaways from the 2022 Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix!

Those Checo Fans

No seriously, even though Checo only secured a P3 at the end of the race, the fans cheered him on for every single corner of this race. The entire audience could be heard during the race as if their very life depended on Sergio Perez winning this race. Now of course that didn’t happen when the chequered flag fell, Checo surely got close to achieving his goal of winning his home race. Maybe in 2023 though.

Mercedes Strategy Blunders

As Mercedes is still pushing to get their first win of the season, they’re using every bit of setup and strategy in order to get themselves that glorious top step on the podium.
