3 Takeaways From The 2022 Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix
Another race week and another chances for Max Verstappen to rack up an even larger haul of points. While Monza is one of the oldest and most traditional circuits on the Formula 1 calendar, I personally still find Monza to be refreshing, this is likely due to the high speed nature of the course. So without further ado let’s talk about my top 3 takeaways from the 2022 Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix here at Monza!
Nick De Vries Becomes A Hot Commodity
Due to Alex Albon falling ill late in the weekend prior to the actual grand prix, Nick De Vries was thrust from practicing in an Aston Martin all the way to a points finish in a Williams! Now we could talk about all the drama that ensued prior to the race and how disadvantaged he was since he only really had one free practice with the car before having to complete qualifying and the actual race a day later but more importantly, let’s talk about that race pace! Now only did Nick De Vries score points on his Formula 1 debut but he also did so in a Williams. Generally a car that is found at the back of the grid, even with Alex Albon taking the wheel. Moral of the story is, if Nick De Vries doesn’t secure a Formula 1 seat for next year, I’ll personally be livid, because this is clearly some class act talent!
