Other weekend passed and another exiting race in the world of Formula 1! Some came out with wins; some came out with very decisive blows to both their egos and their championship hopes! So, let’s check out my top 3 takeaways from the race weekend!

Carlos Sainz Can’t Catch A Break

It was announced earlier in the week that Carlos Sainz had received a contract extension from Ferrari, basically signaling the fact that while Carlos should proceed to perform better or at least on par with Charles Lecler, he won’t be losing his seat any time soon. This should have been a big confidence boost to Carlos, which I’m sure it was but even that couldn’t save him from a rough and disappointing weekend at Imola. On lap 1 a few seconds after the start of the race Carlos got caught out when Daniel Ricciardo and his McLaren made contact with Carlos and his Ferrari. Throwing both drivers into the gravel only Daniel was able to recover and continue the race. Carlos, for the second week in a row was trapped in sand and did not get a chance to even compete. Needless to say, this was a low blow for Sainz who is already on the backfoot when it comes to the championship, Carlos will need to make a near perfect recovery and Ferrari will need to help lift him up if they have any hope of maintaining their lead in the…
