3 Takeaways From The 2022 Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix
Another weekend finished and another spectacular race in the books for the 2022 season and on top of that we’re really starting to confirm just how these new 2022 regulations are starting to contribute towards a racing series that creates amazing on track battles. Before I spoil everything in my introduction, let’s take a deeper dive into my 3 takeaways from the 2022 Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix!
Ferrari Is On Fire! No Seriously, They’re On Fire…
With fewer than 20 laps remaining in the Austrian Grand Prix, Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz was hunting down Max Verstappen’s Redbull. Showing strong poise and performance, only for one of his best overtaking opportunities to end with his car quite literally engulfed in flames. Carlos was able to get his car safely off of the racetrack, but it appeared that he had issues getting the brakes engaged in order for him to escape quickly. Luckily some wheel blocks and fire extinguishers ensured that no was injured as a result of this engine failure, but I don’t think there is anything anyone could say Carlos to make him feel better after such a strong showing that nearly guaranteed him a chance at P2. While Leclerc was able to take home P1 it was a bittersweet day in the Ferrari garage. Yet again, another Ferrari or Redbull related incident and Mercedes…
