There are a lot of different definitions out there when it comes to financial minimalism. Whether you’re talking about simplifying your financial system by reducing the “financial clutter” or if you’re talking about spending as little money as possible, I think there are numerous benefits to be earned from both so I want to go over a few here in this article!

Satisfaction

Financial minimalism can mean that you’re truly content with your situation or at the very least not striving to get an ever-larger paycheck to pay for ever larger expenses. I know when I started my first career after college, I would spend all my money either paying off debt or buying things off of Amazon. Now I don’t regret going to school (Which is where the student debt originated from), but I do regret a lot of the unnecessary purchases that I made. There was something inside of my brain that signaled the idea that since I had money, I should go out and spend it. While that’s not incredibly backwards, it does open up the door for individuals to always be chasing the next best thing. Whether that’s a new car or a new smartphone, spending all your money means you can never be content with what you have, and that’s no fun!

Early Retirement

If you love what you do during your day job, then I don’t even want you to…
